We are a 'Game of Thrones' themed kennel in Minnesota dedicated to the production of healthy and sound Australian Shepherds! All our dogs are AKC registered with healthy and clean bloodlines. Ours is a kennel that prides itself on upholding the breed standard and only breeding quality dogs. We give a 5 year health guarantee to your puppy so long as you maintain our protocols. All our dogs are genetically tested, as well as all other testing including OFAs(hips/elbows), OR Pennhip, eye exams at two years of age will also be completed. We screen for our dogs carefully to ensure they have found their forever home. All of our puppies come familiar with men and women, cats and dogs, and little humans. The main focus for us is the relationships we build with the buyers-this is a kennel that will support you for your dogs entire life. This breed is our biggest passion, and we look forward to working with you!

Breed History

Despite their name, the Australian Shepherd originated in the western US, not Australia, around the time of the Gold Rush in the 1840s. Originally bred to herd livestock, they remain a working dog breed at heart. The Aussie, as they are nicknamed, is happiest when they have a job to do. They can be a wonderful family companion if their intelligence and energy are channeled into dog sports or activities.
The breed enjoyed a popularity boom in the post-World War II years that went hand-in-hand with a renewed interest in Western-style horseback riding. Crowds at rodeos or horse shows, and audiences of western movies or TV shows, were wowed by the athletic dogs they saw working alongside the cowboys. Despite the popular interest, the breed wasn't recognized by the American Kennel Club until 1993. |

HealthWe take every precaution with our breeding dogs. Every dog within our kennel has extensive health testing to ensure soundness. Genetic panels are completed along with OFAs/Pennhip, as well as Ophthalmologist exams. Doing this with the dogs in our kennel guarantees our puppies will have optimal outlook. Which makes for a long living, happy and healthy Aussies for our buyers!
ConformationWe follow the AKC Breed Standard for correctness in our Dog's Conformation. This is important for a dog's movement and gait. Aussies with correct structure should have a smooth, free and easy stride.We love our dogs to be solid and strong, yet agile. Our dog's tend to run on the larger side of the breed standard. We like a lot of Auss!

TemperamentTemperament is also a high priority for us. We know that our buyers are families looking for companions, so our kennel is focused on maintaining mentally sound dogs with great temperament and a medium-low drive. We research pedigrees extensively to ensure the lines behind our breeding dogs are quality and have great temperament. Beyond that, our litters are raised with Early Neurological Stimulation and are socialized throughout their stay with us for the most optimal start to their life!
Breeder SupportWe believe in supporting you from the birth of your puppy, to the very end. We will under any circumstance take back a Stormborn Aussie without judgement at any time. We have created a community for our Stormborn Family to ask questions and interact with. We are always available for questions and tips, as we believe in taking care of our own!

We have invested time in finding lines with specific qualities. We wanted, BIG and BOLD Aussies! Beautiful thick coats, on the larger size of the standard, and dense bone structure. We also wanted the blue eye gene heavily implemented in our kennel. We wanted statement dogs!
