Stormborn Aussies Sales Policy

Here at Stormborn Aussies LLC, we have a few policies in place that make us a little different. We work very hard to raise quality puppies and finding proper homes for them is a responsibility we take very seriously. Our contract is in place to protect both you as the buyer, and us as the seller! We ask you review it carefully to understand your commitments. If in the case that your Aussie develops a terminal genetic health problem within the 5 year health guarantee, our contract does NOT require you to return your loved pet to receive a replacement. We do not believe in removing a loved pet from their home for this. Please see our contract for specific details. All puppies are sold on a companion contract with a sterilization agreement. Companion puppies are NOT undesirable, this just means that they will simply not be used for breeding. Stormborn Aussies retains the right to hold, maintain or keep any puppy for our kennel FIRST. Additionally, we allow other approved breeders to get first pick AFTER Stormborn Aussies LLC has chosen. This policy is in place because we have partnerships with other kennels and we believe that a Breeder should always get a breeding quality puppy. Deposits are non-refundable and collected before puppies are born for potential candidates to be added to our waitlist. This is a "first come, first serve," policy, we go down our waitlist numerically, as we feel this is fair. If a candidate opts to wait for a specific color/trait/timeline/etc.. in a puppy, they can be transferred to a future litter and will get priority on that list. We do have every families best interest in mind, so at times we will have to hold a puppy who will need a specific type of family dynamic. Our efforts are in finding our families a puppy that will best match their needs, not in finding a color to match their desires. If it is a specific color you're after, that is no problem! Just understand you may wait a short period to have the right puppy matched to you!

Reputation is very important to us!

We have spent years developing our kennel. In that time we made no compromises in our dogs health. We run all of our tests to ensure our breeding dogs will only produce healthy and sound, quality puppies. There are many unethical breeders out there who do not test and breed their dogs solely for profit. These breeders also give no health guarantee and have no regard for their puppies after they go home. By running our tests, and evaluating each dog's temperament and drive, we breed with intention and produce dogs that will fit within our expectations. Here at Stormborn Aussies, you can ensure you are getting high quality, well rounded and healthy dogs!

Health Protocols

Australian Shepherds have a few needs in regards to their health. We have established a few protocols in our kennel to ensure our dogs and the puppies they produce are healthy, long lived Aussies. These protocols are not up for negotiations if you want to maintain your contract with Stormborn Aussies LLC. These are in place for the well being of each puppy, therefore if a protocol is not followed, the health guarantee with Stormborn Aussies LLC is void.
Protocols are as follows:

1. Feed Life's Abundance & NuVet Supplements

Feeding Life's Abundance and NuVet to your growing puppy guarantees the nutrition needed for growth and development. Beyond that, feeding this diet to your dog in their adult life eliminates many diet related diseases or ailments. This is how you maintain your 5 year health guarantee with us. We truly believe that Nutrition is the cornerstone for health in dogs, so this is our #1 on our protocol list.

2. Vaccination Schedule

Australian Shepherds can be affected by a genetically mutated gene called MDR1. This is Multi Drug Resistance. Essentially, this makes the breed prone to sensitivity around certain pharmaceutical drugs as well as other household toxins and chemicals. We test our dogs for this, and while none of the dogs in our kennel has tested positive for MDR1, we still take precaution and treat them as if they did have it. The breed is already sensitive as it is to these things, so we encourage taking the step in precaution for your furbaby. We have collaborated this Vaccination Schedule with our Veterinarian, as well as the Las Lunes Veterinarian aka "The Aussie Expert." We ask that you follow the schedule to ensure safe practices with your puppy. We frequently post about MDR1 on our blog on facebook, check it out for more information!

3. Anesthesia Protocol

Since MDR1 precautions are what we are practicing here, our Spay/Neuter protocols is just slightly different. We ask that our buyer's set up the spay/neuter surgery with the GAS ANESTHESIA instead of the injectable! This again, is purely precaution. However, it is very important that this last step be followed as it is a safer way to complete this operation. All licensed veterinarians have this method capability and should comply with your request with no issue. This practice is again recommended by  "The Aussie Expert," veterinarian!

Well-Bred, Quality puppies at a fair price

The time and money we have invested into our dogs is no "cheap" expense. Breeding quality dogs that come from desirable bloodlines with excellent structure, health, temperament and soundness is no simple thing. It takes years of time and effort to establish and maintain a kennel with that level of quality. Keep in mind that there is a fundamental difference between "cost" and "price". Aussies described as above are worth the price while lower rate dogs end up costing you later because they will develop health issues since there is no proper testing completed. We are firm believers in doing right by our dogs and don't want anyone to live through that heartbreak for something that could have been easily prevented.
Quality does not, and will not come cheaply.

Color Variations

Aussies have four accepted colors in the breed standard: Black Tri, Red Tri, Blue Merle and Red Merle
However, almost every Aussie looks different! Sometimes they can be darker in appearance or lighter as well. The photos used below are credited to the kennels they are from, we thank those listed below for allowing us to us their photos for this example collage.
